Julia Jostes & Simon Eberl

Since 2016, Julia Jostes and Simon Eberl have operated their workshop in the heart of the historic Hanseatic city of Lübeck, located in northern Germany. Both of them received their training at the Mittenwald Violin Making School and gained valuable experience working in various workshops across Europe. During their career, they increasingly focused on crafting new instruments, with a particular emphasis on this aspect while working at Anneke Degen’s workshop in Hamburg and Ragnar Hayn’s workshop in Berlin.

They have also attended the Oberlin Violin Makers Workshop on multiple occasions. Additionally, Simon serves as the co-organizer of the Brandenburg Violinmaking Workshop, an annual event that has been held since 2021. In recognition of their exceptional craftsmanship, they have received several awards at the VSA competition in both 2018 and 2022.
