Ronald Ji

Bow Maker

Ronald Ji has been an avid learner of piano, violin, saxophone, fine art, photography, and painting since he was a child.

From 2004 to 2009, he entered the Heirloom Art Studio to learn traditional basic woodworking and carving techniques. From 2009 to 2010, he was instructed by Peter Prier, Charles Woolf and Georg Meiwes at the Salt Lake City School of Violin Making.

In 2011, Ronald joined the studio of Horacio Pineiro in New York City. During this period, Ronald continued to learn the production and maintenance of traditional violins and bows, and participated in high-end restoration of precious antique violins.

Ronald is also an accomplished photographer of fine instruments. Many of his photographs can be seen in Strad Magazine. He is also in high demand as a fashion photographer. He has photographed the runways of Tom Ford, Proenza Schouler, Tory Burch, Coach, Michael Kors, and Marc Jacobs to name a few.
