Michael discovered his passion for woodworking at an early age, which inspired him to attend the Violin Making School of America. After graduating, he returned to his native Seattle to work for several shops performing fine restoration and repair. He is currently focused on making new instruments, which are played by advanced students and professionals. Michael has received numerous awards in the Violin Society of America’s violin making competition in recognition of his work, including a Gold and Silver Medal for his cellos. Michael continues to expand upon his training by attending VSA-Oberlin workshops and consulting with colleagues. He currently lives with his wife and son in the beautiful Snoqualmie Valley near Seattle.
