Michael is currently the Shop Foreman of Francis Morris Violins located in the Berkshire town of Great Barrington, Massachusetts. He divides his time between making new instruments and restoring instruments of the violin family.
Michael also tries to give back to the craft as a teacher. He has assisted Francis Morris in his “Basic Violin Set Up” course at the University of New Hampshire since 2012. He also began teaching his own course on the subject of varnishing at UNH this past summer.
Recently, Michael was awarded a Certificate of Merit for Tone for a violin from the Violin Society of America at the 2018 International Violin Making Competition.
