Ballenger & Nédélec
Antoine Nédélec and Kristin Siegfried Ballenger are the teaching team at the Chicago School of Violin Making.
Antoine is a member of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers. He serves regularly on the faculty of the Oberlin Violin Makers Workshop and has won multiple awards at the VSA competitions. In January, Antoine joined the Chicago School of Violin Making as their Executive Director.
Kristin is a graduate of the Chicago School of Violin Making, and Illinois Wesleyan University. She worked for Peter Seman while in school and after doing restoration for his shop. Kristin has also served on several committees for the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers, has participated in the Oberlin Violin Makers and Restoration workshops, and currently is on the Board of the Violin Society of America.
The two continue their individual building as well as collaborative projects while working with the many talented students at the Chicago School of Violin Making.
