Guillaume Turgeon is a Montréal based violin maker. A trained violist, he turned to violin-making in 2004, studying at the National School of Lutherie (Quebec City, Canada). After obtaining his degree in 2007, he joined the workshop of Pier Bergeron, where he spent several years deepening his knowledge of setting-up, repairing and restoring instruments. He then apprenticed with violinmakers Jean-Benoit Stensland and Thérèse Girard, both trained at the Cremonese School, and with whom he still collaborates. Guillaume now focuses on the crafting of new instruments in his own workshop, which he shares with fellow luthier Fabienne Gauchet.
