From 1985 to 1988 Stefan Bauni went to the School for Violin making in Mittenwald, a beautiful small village in the Alps which is world famous for its longstanding Violin making tradition. After completing the three and a half year long apprenticeship, Bauni went on working for Peter Körner/Mainz and Gerriet Groth/Wiesbaden.
Before coming to New York in 1995, Bauni worked in the workshop of Gilles Chancereul in Paris, France for nearly 5 years.
After working for the world-famous Christophe Landon in New York for 6 years, Stefan Bauni established his own business in 2001.
In the last few years his work activities have included making, repair & restoration of violins, violas and cellos as well as photography of instruments.
