Jeffrey Haas began his violin making studies with Geoffrey Ovington and later with Michael Darnton and Marilyn Wallin.
Presently a mechanical engineer for the Department of Defense he finds time to pursue his passion for building instruments inspired by the great classical models.
In addition to building, he enjoys playing fiddle for Contra dances, Celtic sessions and performances. He resides in upstate New York.
The instrument presented is based on the “Plowden” del Gesu of 1735.
